Designed for a client with a deep love of Australian native plants, Mackin makes the most of limited space with repeat plantings to create a sense of continuity and showcase unique specimens. Three key ‘garden rooms’ feature stunning native flowering plants that welcome birdlife and provide year-round colour interest. Complementing a Loke Architects home that mixes heritage structure with contemporary additions, this garden aims for timelessness as well as modernity. A copse of blueberry ash will in time bring scale and a sense of age to the space, while an illuminated, five-sided seed pod sculpture lends immediate drama to the poolside garden.
