Sometimes life’s journey brings you to a place, a new home far away, and you yearn for the place of your childhood memories. Our clients wanted a garden that connected their past to the present. We created a dreamy garden for them where they could reminisce about their childhood along paths that take them past proteas, cotyledon and African roses, wisteria, catmint and bearded irises. We designed a vine-covered pergola over the path leading to the kitchen garden from which the family now shares its herbs, fruit and vegetables with new friends. We built a drystone wall on which people can sit and talk, and installed a special seating area where, in the quiet of the evening, our clients can recline in their favourite garden chairs, and ponder or be in the moment.
