Our Design Process

We offer a comprehensive garden design service, tailored to reflect each client’s brief, the site’s characteristics, and the surrounding architecture. Our design process is consultative, and our clients are invited to share their vision. Every stage of the process is designed to equip you with the necessary information to bring your dream garden to life.

Your garden design journey starts with an on-site consultation. This meeting allows us to assess the unique conditions of your site and hear your vision for the project. The consultation allows us to explore project opportunities and challenges, we encourage clients to share their aspirations and design brief. In return, we provide practical advice and insights. Following this meeting, we develop a Landscape Design Fee Proposal, outlining the project scope and brief. Please be aware that the initial on-site consultation is provided as a professional service and is subject to a Consultation Fee.

The Concept Design presents the proposed layout, materials, and planting palette. It includes detailed plans and visual representations to clearly communicate the design intent. This is a flexible, collaborative process developed in close partnership with the client. Once approved, the project moves into the Documentation phase.

This package includes all the technical information needed for costing and construction. It consists of a landscape plan, planting plan, planting schedule, lighting plan, detailed drawings, and specifications. These documents are essential for project tendering and implementation.

We can recommend experienced landscape contractors to tender on the final drawings, or you are welcome to utilise your own contractors. Following the analysis of the tender submissions, we will meet to select a contractor to build your garden. At this stage, we will provide a quotation for design plant procurement. Plants are sourced through a network of quality wholesale and retail nurseries.

We can make site visits during the garden construction phase to ensure the design is interpreted and implemented accurately. We can also coordinate and manage other specialist contractors to ensure the construction of the garden runs smoothly and on time. When the garden build is complete, we can prepare a Garden Maintenance plan to ensure the design is realised. We can also organise horticultural support services to assist this process.
